This nightlight is covered by a real shell that looks very much like a tiger cowrie, which is a species of cowry, a large sea snail. This one is typical of tiger cowries and is egg-shaped with a glossy buff shell that is densely covered with dark brown circular spots. These can be seen around the edge of the shell. The center of the shell is painted with a scene of seagulls under a bright yellow-orange sky and diving toward the water.
